Hello There! And welcome. It's been a little while and I have some new followers so I thought that I would take a minute to introduce myself. This is me. Amber – watercolor painter, illustrator, muralist, designer as well as a mother and wife. I have loved nature and to create art for as long as I can remember. I am not a fancy person, I rarely wear shoes other than flip flops, and I love to be outside when I am not in my studio. Typically, I like to paint and illustrate. I’m inspired every day near our home from sights and sounds, including our Florida beaches, trails, canals and nearby fishing villages. My goal as a fine artist is to draw you as the viewer, into my art. I want to help the viewer focus in on a particular section of my artwork while seeing the whole picture. I like to achieve this by creating a focus that casts a “window” of color on an area of the painting with watercolor paints. Then, I extend my work out onto the mat with black watercolor paint and ink. I like to think of this as “thinking out of the box”. More recently I have found a new passion for designing apparel and accessories using my designs, like the leggings I'm wearing in the photograph. Since I like to feel comfortable, I design comfy clothing. I think a lot of us want to wear more relaxing clothing this year since many of us are finding ourselves working from home now and/or helping our kids with virtual school. We need to simplify where we can! Thank you for following me on my journey. I appreciate your critiques, questions, supportive comments and your support towards my business. These are the things that help me to learn, grow and continue to create ART. collecting stickers Flamingos, octopuses(octopi?), seahorses (sailfish and yellow finch) stickers oh my! I look at these stickers, remember and think back to a great memory of collecting stickers as a kid. My hero, my aunt Melissa who is only 8 years older than me, introduced me to it. I was her “shadow” growing up. We had our sticker books that we would regularly go through and look at and would make trades. My favorite stickers were the 80’s bubble stickers or sparkle stickers. Sometimes the scratch and sniff stickers that smelled like strawberries or root beer. Sometimes, we would have to give up two or three stickers for a really “good” sticker. So simple but sooooo much fun. When she was 16, I was 8. I’m sure she could have been doing something much more fun than, that, with me. Lol For this I am truly lucky and grateful.
